Where your dreams get built, Or your blood get spilt, Got to face your fear, In the wild frontier
The Prodigy, 2015
Talk about taking diving straight into the deep end, but here goes nothing. This is my first blog post prompted by my most recent spontaneous decision to further my studies and enroll in a Grad Cert of Communications at Deakin Uni.
I’ve always known I’m a little behind the times when it comes to technology…I have a massive library of DVD’s, still buy music in CD form and then transfer it on to my iPod Classic. But this subject already (and its only week 2 of study) has forced me to broaden my horizons not only in terms of my use of social media (follow me on Twitter @44Felic) but also in terms of putting myself out there ‘on the line’ ….. (also I’m a massive fan of what some would classify as B-grade comedies so strap yourself in!).

I moved from Melbourne to Perth at the start of this year, and while my husband Jordan felt like he was coming home, I was full of trepidation. Luckily my furry side-kick Olive was also in the same boat so we could work through our issues together. It’s been an odd time, packing up what I thought at the time was my entire life, and moving across the country. But strangely enough it’s been quite easy, and not only that but its helped me to realise there is more to life than what I was living. Olive too has relished in the sunshine, extra space and variety of birds to spy on from her spot on the balcony.
‘Glass half empty’ by nature, I’ve had to make a conscious decision to make the most of the opportunities Perth has to offer. In time, I hope this blog will remind me of some of the challenges I faced with moving cities, making friends as an adult, and adapting to a different lifestyle and the ways in which I overcame these challenges. I also hope some things I say might resonate with you too, or at least be mildly entertaining. Otherwise just enjoy the cat photos!
